Aikido is a budo which resembles the flowing of water. Water is active by its own, it moves things and doesn’t shy away from obstacles. It is pure by nature, washes pollution, absorbs good and bad and doesn’t stop seeking for its own direction.

thank you for your help Tendokan
The way of aiki is not the struggle about winning or losing, it is a continuous struggle with oneself. It is a budo that strengthens your will by steady practice and lets you acquire victory naturally.
This year again we received numerous guests from various countries to our yearly Tendokan seminar. Initially we calculated with about 80 participants, however the number of applications rose to 90, among these 20 interested students from abroad. It wasn't easy to convince the Kannon Onsen Hotel to provide more rooms for accomodation. In the end however we managed to accept all interested parties.
The aikido practice didn't take place as a sporting event, but was meant to strengthen the attitude towards budo. Furthemore we organized a BBQ-party in the open, that started at 4:30 p.m. and everybody was enjoying oneself while having delicious food and drinks until late in the evening at about 10:00 p.m. It was even seen that we had illumination in the magnificent garden of Kannon Onsen Hotel, which we had a special permission to use.
Is was a cheerful harmonious get-together among likeminded people and despite of differing mother tongues there was no language barrier. It seemed the starry sky over the mountains of Shimoda (Izu) twinkling like diamonds was welcoming us.

I would like to announce that I together with my representatives have decided with the consent of the trainers to appoint Kenta Shimizu as dojo leader of the Tendokan.
Kenta grew up with Aikido. After his graduation from university he became uchideshi and devoted himself to Aikido. His apprenticeship that involved intensive practice lasted for 5 years.
There is still a lot to be improved – wherefore I want to ask for your assistance.
Shimizu Kenji (founder and head of Tendoryu Aikido)
'I am very busy, therefore …' is often stated as an excuse.
The character however for the word 'busy' is a compound of heart and loose. So while saying: 'I am busy, very busy', you forget that life is finite and flows by that very moment.
Rennyo Shonin (1415-1499) - monk
Shimizu Sensei announced several graduations in 2010. Congratulations to everyone for the new degree!

Two years have passed since the NPO tendo world aikido has been established. Shortly referred to as twa.
In the beginning I often was asked following questions. Why is such an organization necessary? What will happen to the membership fees? What are our advantages?
For this year we cannot accept any more registrations. The seminar is already fully booked.
People take care of their bodies, but they are not interested in taking care of their minds.
To strike somebody with a sword, does not mean to execute the sword blow itself, but to know how to grasp the right moment to cut the enemy.
(words by a sword master)
The yearly seminar of the dojo at Kannon Onsen / Izu will take place between 16. Oct. - 18. Oct. 2010.
If you are interested in participating please write directly to the Tendokan for further information.
All the best wishes for a happy new year.
The spirit controls the body 'ki' works from the inside to the outside, while 'intuition' is something that goes from the outside to the inside.
We want to experience and strengthen this wonderful interplay with our own body during regular practice.
I would be pleased to see you again this year on one of my seminars abroad or here in Japan in the Tendokan.
